October 2008 will be remembered for three things:
(1) Vanderbilt's victory over Auburn (and the GameDay visit that accompanied that game), giving them a 5-0 start - immediately followed by three straight losses.
(2) Dallas's hopes of a Super Bowl appearance quickly shattered with injuries accompanied by losses.
(3) The Red Sox lost to the Rays in the ALCS. The Rays were then completely embarrassed by the Phillies in the World Series
At least the Titans are having their best start in franchise history. Plus, Vanderbilt basketball is just around the corner.
Besides being disappointed by my teams, I've spent my October working in lab, going to class, and playing lots of sports. Things in lab are going well, but I am working super hard to get data for the lab meeting I will give after Thanksgiving. I'm also working to publish the paper that should have been out before I joined the lab. Class isn't too challenging, but we have our big paper due in about a month that I have put absolutely zero thought into. I have to pick some electives to take for the spring which will be my last semester of classes ever! I am currently playing intramural indoor soccer, flag football, innertube water polo and I am filling in on a Nashville Sports League outdoor soccer team.
